Codeshare Code of Conduct

TL;DR

Codeshare is dedicated to providing a harassment-free meetup experience for everyone, regardless of gender, gender identity and expression, age, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, ethnicity, religion (or lack thereof), or technology choices. We do not tolerate harassment of conference participants in any form. Codeshare participants violating these rules may be sanctioned or expelled from the meetup at the discretion of the organizers.

Codeshare is dedicated to providing a harassment-free experience for everyone. We do not tolerate harassment in any form.

All attendees, speakers, and volunteers are expected to comply with this code of conduct.

Codeshare participants violating these rules may be sanctioned or expelled from the conference at the discretion of the organizers. Participants asked to stop any harassing behavior are expected to comply immediately.

Harassment includes:

  • Offensive comments related to gender, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, disability, mental illness, physical appearance, body size, age, race, or religion.
  • Unwelcome comments regarding a person’s lifestyle choices and practices, including those related to food, health, parenting, drugs, and employment.
  • Deliberate “outing” of any aspect of a person’s identity without their consent except as necessary to protect vulnerable people from intentional abuse.
  • Gratuitous or off-topic sexual images or behaviour in spaces where they’re not appropriate.
  • Unwelcome sexual attention, physical contact or simulated physical contact.
  • Threats and/or incitement of violence.
  • Deliberate intimidation.
  • Stalking or following.
  • Harassing photography or recording.
  • Publication of private communication without consent.
  • Sustained disruption of discussion.
  • Continued one-on-one communication after requests to cease.
  • Advocating for, or encouraging, any of the above behaviour

If you are being harassed, notice that someone else is being harassed, or have any other concerns, please contact a codeshare organizers immediately.

This anti-harassment policy is based on the example policy from the Geek Feminism wiki, created by the Ada Initiative and other volunteers.

Photo & Video Policy

Codeshare organizers may take pictures or video record during the event. We’d like to ensure all participants are protected and aware of the possible use of their likeness and/or voice.

By virtue of your attendance, you agree to the usage of your likeness and/or voice in such media.

You have a right to opt out of the inclusion in photos/videos. Please let us know if you would like to be excluded and/or have any concerns or questions.
